Aimee Haxton

Early Years Practitioner

Hi. I’m Aimee and I came to join the team at Happy Days in the autumn of 2017. Initially, I worked with our youngest learners in the Little Stars, but I am now working with Jemma and her team in the Sunshine Room. I would describe myself as sociable and friendly and enjoy spending time with the children exploring and discovering together. This year I have attended training – ‘Children’s Learning Environments’. This training has encouraged me to evaluate my current practice whilst working alongside my team to create an environment that promotes curiosity.

Allison Thomson

Senior Early Years Practitioner

Hi I’m Allison and I’ve been at Happy Days since 1993. I’ve worked in all of the playrooms over the years but my role now is to oversee the planning/ observations/ report writing in the nursery. The aspects I enjoy most are working alongside my colleagues and seeing them grow and develop as they gain in confidence and writing posts to the nursery blog; I love reading and then shang that knowledge and passion I have for all aspects of early years learning with others. You’ll mostly find me in the office, and most likely laughing over some photos of the children I’m posting to Facebook.

Barbara Cruikshank

Early Years Practitioner

Hi I’m Barbara and currently I work in the Rainbow Room, though I have recently spent most of my time with the babies. I joined the team here in 1997 and I am the person who is the nursery first thing every morning. I love to welcome the children with a smile and a cuddle. I am a gran of five and I sometimes think that the children see me as their adopted gran too!  I would say I am pretty green fingered, and you’ll find some of the flowers the children and I have planted dotted around the nursery and in the garden.

Dee Stewart

Early Years Practitioner – Room Leader

Hi! I’m Dee and I’ve been at Happy Days since 2014 and currently am the room leader in the Rainbow Room. I would describe myself as funny and outgoing and I love to laugh! I love that at nursery, continuous development is such a priority and I appreciate the training that is organised for us by the management team.  I have been developing my own practice in areas relating to creativity and I have been collaborating with others in the team to help develop the environment and experiences we offer to the children.

Donna Bremner

Early Years Practitioner

Hi there. I’m Donna and I have worked in the private sector since 1994, initially as a nursery assistant, then as a childminder and now as an EYP at Happy Days where I joined in 2007. I would describe myself as an organised and practically minded person who loves being busy with the children. You’ll often find me in the garden, planting and digging or else taking the children out in the local environment to explore our surroundings.

Francesca Paesano

Early Years Support Worker/Soon to be Early Years Practitioner

Hi I’m Chesca and I returned to Happy Days in 2016 having had my family. I would describe myself as friendly, fun loving and outgoing. I love getting to know the children and their families and make time to speak to parents.  You’ll, more often than not, find me up to my arms in flour, baking with the children. At other times I enjoy reading stories and playing some games.

Hannah Smith

Early Years Practitioner

Hi. I’m Hannah and I joined Happy Days straight from college in 2018. I would describe myself as quiet but fun and Happy Days is drawing me out of my shell! I enjoy all aspects of my work, but I especially enjoy spending time outdoors and working on projects with the children. I have attended various training sessions this year and am looking forward to working alongside my team to implement our new vision.

Jemma McGregor

Early Years Practitioner – Room Leader

Hi. I’m Jemma and am the room leader in the Sunshine Room. I joined the Happy Days team back in 2011 when my oldest daughter attended the nursery. I would describe myself as organised and open to trying out new ideas. Part of my role this year has been to attend ‘Ground for Learning’ training which has allowed me to embrace the idea of children managing risk. The experiences we’ve offered have proven very successful and I’m looking forward to sharing my knowledge with the rest of the team.

Jen Furey

Early Years Practitioner

Hello, I’m Jen. I’ve worked in the private sector since 2011 and joined Happy Days in Spring 2019. Initially I worked with the 3 -5s and now I’ve joined the Little Star’s team. I would say that I’m a calm and friendly person by nature and this has helped me develop very close relationships with all the babies. I enjoy watching the babies grow and develop and love to know that I am a part of that. I like to provide sensory activities that encourage the children to learn through exploration.

Louise Farrell

Early Years Practitioner

Hi. I’m Louise and I’ve been at Happy Days since 2003. I’ve worked in all the rooms and am currently enjoying working with the two to three-year-old children in the Rainbow Room. I would describe myself as relaxed and easy going and my calm nature helps me to bond quickly with all the children. I enjoy spending time in small groups reading stories and chatting with the little ones. I have been very fortunate this year to attend training about ‘Children’s Learning Environment’.  As a team we have been working hard to create spaces that provoke children’s thinking and learning.

Lynsay Dolan

Early Years Practitioner – Room Leader

Hi. I’m Lynsay and I joined Happy Days in 1994. At the moment I am the room leader in the Little Stars where I love caring for our youngest learners. I love meeting new families and I use my experiences with my own children to help reassure parents and develop very positive relationships with them. I am a very creative person and I’ve enjoyed recent training which has enabled my team and I to further develop an environment which is friendly, calm and nurturing for our youngest learners.

Margaret Fyffe

Cook

Hi I’m Mags and I was originally the nursery cleaner and became the cook in 2015.  Although my official name is Mags the children all call me ‘Granny Mags’ and you will find me in the kitchen wearing my ‘Granny Mags’ apron.  I would describe myself as everyone’s favourite ‘granny’ who loves to share my vast knowledge of cooking with others.  It always amazes me how many children eat meals at nursery that they never would at home. I have been known to share recipes with families when the need arises!

Natalie Forbes

Early Years Practitioner

Hi I’m Natalie and I’ve been working at Happy Days since January 2016. I’ve enjoyed starting my childcare journey here and completing my SVQ level 3 has given me so much confidence. I would describe myself as caring and friendly and enjoy working in the Rainbow Room with the two-year olds. I like to see all the steps the children achieve as they become increasingly independent but they still like a cuddle too. You’ll usually find me in a group of children playing in the home corner with a pretend cup of tea or else exploring together in some sensory experience.

Stacey Fraser

Early Years Practitioner

Hello. I’m Stacey and I’ve been working in the private sector since 2015 and I came to join Happy Days in autumn 2018.   Initially I worked with the youngest children in the Little Stars but recently have joined the team in the Rainbow Room. I love getting involved in all kinds of exploratory play and am also keen to offer different kinds of physical experiences to the children.  I would describe myself as nurturing and caring and love to see the children flourish in my care.

Susan Mills

Volunteer

Hi I’m Susan and I’ve been volunteering here since 1998. You’ll find me in the Rainbow Room with the two – three-year olds. I love being part of the team and helping where I can.  Although I am a volunteer, I take my role seriously and I’m always there for the children with a cuddle and a listening ear.

Tyler Muir

Early Year’s Support Worker/Soon to be Early Years Practitioner

Hi I’m Tyler and I came to join the team here at Happy Days in spring 2018. I have previously worked in retail and this has helped me develop lots of confidence in dealing with other people. I’m a very bubbly person, and you will often hear me laughing with the children. So far I’ve worked with the children in the 2- 3 year old room and now I’ve joined Lynsay and her team in the Little Stars. I am working towards a SVQ level 3 and am enjoying the challenge it brings.
